AITO COLLECTIVE is a professional and innovative vocal improvisation collective based in Finland – active worldwide.
The deep love and passion we share for vocal improvisation and for each other have driven us to research, work, practise and play, to live improvisation together and now we are ready to share this joy with the rest of the world.

 

AITO is formed by a collective of seven professional musicians, who are bringing their long experience and unique skills to this project in order to create something truly fresh for the music scene worldwide. Although AITO is an amazing lineup of specialists in various global music skills, musical aesthetics and techniques, we strongly believe, that what really makes improvisation interesting and meaningful, is the profound honesty that we aim to experience and express on stage. Searching the next note, finding the way, playing joyfully with elements of the moment, as well as being scared, fragile or vulnerable – these are all just impulses that can turn into something beautiful in a heart beat, if only we give them a chance to shine. After all, we only have choices in a moment, and then we just – happen.
