WORDL MUSIC WITH CUBAN INFLUENCE
KUUKUMINA performs modern world music. The band´s recipe is the combination of the Afro Cuban rhythms with elements from other music cultures. Put together it creates an irresistible call to dance.
Five friends founded Kuukumina in 1999. Very soon after the beginning the music style was stabilized: traditional Cuban music, and especially son. Since then the band has grown into a septet and created very personal sound.
Kuukumina has released three albums: Siempre pa´lante (2009), Circular (2010) and Kámina, (Rockadillo, 2012). The last one borrows elements from different cultures and combines them with those of Cuba. The strongest influences come mainly from the music of the Middle East, the music of the Andean region and the Spanish flamenco.
